The beneficiary also needs to be a permanent resident.

Who is qualified to get a stimulus check of $500 for March 2024?

To be eligible for the stimulus check, applicants must fulfil many requirements, such as supplying information on their energy vendors, confirming income records, and proving income at 75% of the Connecticut median.

IRS Urges Quick Action to Claim Stimulus Check of Up to $2,400 Before Deadline

Clients must show that they have made at least four payments in the last 12 months, have an outstanding balance, and submit information on their income for the last four weeks.

Various utility providers, such as Eversource, United Illuminating (UI), and Norwalk Public Utilities for electricity; Eversource, UI, Yankee Gas, Southern Connecticut Gas (SCG), and Connecticut Natural Gas (CNG) for gas; and CT Water and The Metropolitan District (MDC) for water, are currently accepting applications for assistance with water and energy bills.

The deadline for applications is now March 15; those who miss it will still receive support.

Additional state-run programs

Connecticut provides some governmental and charity programs to assist its needy citizens in addition to Operation Fuel. The Department of Social Services offers programs like the Energy Assistance Program (CEAP), SNAP (food stamps), Connecticut Assistance Program (CAP), and subsidized housing programs. For low-income families across the state, The Salvation Army also provides food pantries, Christmas help, and emergency financial support.
