Target Food Stamps: Find out if Target accepts food stamps and what you can buy with your EBT card

SNAP, a program for Americans, provides funding for low-income families. Target and Walmart are major grocery chains participating, offering EBT card-compliant shopping options.

Target Food Stamps: 41 million Americans use the USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which is a crucial source of funding for low-income families.

Food stamp recipients might be unsure about where to buy groceries, but luckily, major grocery chains like Target, Walmart, and online retailer Amazon—all handy one-stop shops for time-pressed families—participate in the SNAP program.

These retail establishments are ideal for purchasing groceries, electronics, apparel, furniture, and household items. It’s important to understand what you can and cannot buy with your EBT card to make acceptable household purchases.

Does Target accept food stamps?

Retail shop Target will follow rivals Amazon and Walmart in allowing customers to use their SNAP benefits to pay for online grocery orders later this year.

According to the firm, which spoke with Reuters, Target customers will be able to pay with food stamps starting in late April and will receive their food orders through the company’s delivery service arm Shipt. At the point of sale, customers can utilize their electronic benefits transfer, or EBT, card in the same manner as they would a debit or credit card.

More than 4,500 groceries that are qualified for EBT are available at Target.

How to use Target with your EBT card

The Target website states that you can use your EBT card both online and in-store.

Simply use your EBT card to make online payments at checkout if you want to shop for groceries online and have purchases picked up or delivered in states that qualify.
