The Texas General Land Office (GLO) administers this programme, which seeks to assist homeowners in repairing, rehabilitating, or reconstructing their homes.

It concentrates predominantly on aiding homeowners impacted by major disasters such as hurricanes, floods, and other catastrophic events. Eligible householders receive grants, low-interest loans, and other forms of financial assistance through this programme.

Under the programme, homeowners can receive funds to restore their homes to a secure and habitable condition through repairs and improvements. This may involve structural repairs, electrical and plumbing improvements, roof repairs, and other necessary repairs to ensure the property’s safety and functionality.

In addition, the Texas HAP may provide assistance to householders who must temporarily or permanently relocate as a result of the damages. This may include rental assistance or assistance with the purchase of a new property.

Some applicants may also qualify for up to three (3) months of assistance with future mortgage payments.

The TXHAF programme does not cover expenses such as home repairs or home equity financing at this time.
