The final two digits of the EDG number are used to create an organized timetable for SNAP benefit distribution, which guarantees that households receive their monthly allotments from the first to the 28th of the month.
Benefits that are prorated at application may be deposited into the household’s Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) account as a single payment, together with the prorated amount and future monthly allotment. Benefits under SNAP cannot be distributed more than 40 days following their prior distribution.
