Texas SNAP Benefits Payment: The Lone Star Card is used to get Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cash aid payments from the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).

The Lone Star Card is an essential tool for those receiving benefits. “Each month, your approved monthly benefit amount is placed into the card’s account,” explains HHSC.

HHSC advises recipients to activate their cards promptly and select a Personal Identification Number (PIN) before use, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding PINs.

In managing SNAP and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), it’s important to note that SSI usually comes out on the first and third of the month.

It is accepted at participating stores, indicated by a Lone Star Card sign. Eligible purchases include food items for SNAP recipients, as well as various necessities for TANF recipients.

A recipient can freeze or request a new card if their card has been lost or stolen through the app or by contacting the Lone Star Helpdesk.
