VA Chapter 35 Payment September: The VA Chapter 35 Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance benefit for September 2025 will come on October 1, 2025. This is what the Department of Veterans Affairs says in its normal schedule. The VA always sends money on the first business day of the new month for the month before.
Because October 1 this year is a working day, students and dependents will see their money on time with no stop or delay. For many families, this check is very important to help with studies.
Chapter 33 VA Benefits: Who qualifies for 50 percent of the GI Bill?
The money is not the same for everyone. It changes if you go full time, half time, or if you take other types of classes. The VA already has the official rates for people who joined between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025. So the amount a dependent gets depends on the program they choose and how many hours they study.
Since May 2025, the VA told dependents to check their school enrollment every month before they get the money. The student can do this in three ways. They can use text, or email, or the VA’s Ask VA portal. If a student does not do this, then the VA will hold the payment and not send it.
Chapter 35 VA Benefits: Who Can Receive the Full $1,536 Monthly Payment?
The VA also asks every student to make sure their direct deposit bank details are correct. Once a student verifies their school info, the VA usually sends the money in 7 to 10 business days.
The October 1, 2025 date is the important one for the September payment. The VA says this helps students receive the money right when they need it for the new month. Even though the system is very steady, it is always better when students keep up with the monthly verification and bank updates.
