Washington State Working Families Tax Credits: Taxpayers in the US state of Washington have good news as a new tax credit programme that will pay out $1,200 has just been introduced.

This programme, which is officially known as the Washington State Working Families Tax Credit, will aid numerous families around the state.

What is Washington State Working Families Tax Credits?

According to the government website, “The Working Families Tax Credit is a new annual tax refund for Washington residents worth between $50 and $1,200 depending on your income level and how many qualifying children you have in your household.”

“This payment is available to individuals who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who file their taxes using an ITIN.

You have three years to make a credit claim.

How can you apply for the Working Families Tax Credits?

It is possible to apply in a few different ways for this tax credit refund programme.

If you decide against applying at the time you file your tax return, you can do so at a later time using the Department of Revenue’s application form, which is available online or by request on paper.

Who is qualified for the $1,200 in tax credits?

  • Possess a current SSN or ITIN (individual taxpayer identification number).
  • Be a resident of Washington for at least 183 days in 2022 (more than half the year).
  • Been at least 25 years old and younger than 65 OR had a qualifying child in 2022.
  • Have submitted a federal tax return for 2022.
  • Be qualified to file a 2022 tax return and claim the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
