Who Qualifies for the $500 Monthly Payment and How to Apply?

Who Qualifies for the $500 Monthly Payment: Recently, Growing Resilience in Tacoma (GRIT) announced that thousands of Tacoma, Washington people will be eligible to receive a $500 monthly payment. The duration of the event is from April to June 2025.

The program’s registration period starts on March 1. At the end of the application period, 175 families will be selected at random to receive the payments.

United Way of Pierce County and the City of Tacoma together decided to develop the Growing Resilience In Tacoma (GRIT). Every month, 110 families in Tacoma will receive $500 as part of the 12-month GRIT program.

Each of the 110 individuals is employed, lives in a particular urban society, earns between 100 and 200 percent of the federal poverty level and is a one-parent family.

The program is scheduled to commence in April of the current year and conclude in June of 2025. People were permitted to begin applying for the program on March 1. A random selection of 1500 households will be awarded financial assistance after the registration period.

Who Qualifies for the $500 Monthly Payment?

To be eligible for application to the program, candidates must meet four requirements, as stated by UWPC. One is maintaining sole parental responsibilities for children until they attain the age of 17 or, in the case of children with disabilities until they reach the age of 21.

Residents must be located within the following zip codes: 8404, 98405, 98408, 98409, 98418, 98444, or 98445. You must satisfy UWPC’s requirements for having restricted income and assets while employed.

Applicants are ultimately required to earn between 100 and 200 percent of the federal poverty line. Alternatively stated, a two-person household must earn between $20,440 and $40,880 annually.

Interested parties are required to apply online at https://www.uwpc.org/grit-20-guaranteed-income-project. The available application languages are Chinese, Vietnamese, English, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, and Cambodian.
