Who will receive SSDI payments on January 8, 2025?

SSDI Payment Schedule

According to The Social Security Administration (SSA) If your birthday falls between the 1 and 10, the SSA will make your payment on the second Wednesday of the month. If your birthday falls between 11 and 12, you will receive your payment on the 3rd Wednesday. The SSA will make your payment on the 4th Wednesday if your birthday falls between the 21st and 31st.

The third of the month is when some people will get their SSDI payments, such as those who started receiving them before May 1997 or who meet certain requirements (such as living outside the United States, receiving both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or having their state pay their Medicare premiums).

For January 2025, the payment schedule is as follows:

  • Individuals who started receiving SSDI before May 1997 or meet the specified criteria have already received their payments on January 3.
  • Those with birthdays between the 1st and 10th will receive payments on January 8.
  • Those with birthdays between the 11th and 20th can expect their payment on January 15.
  • Those with birthdays from the 21st to the 31st will get their payments on January 22.

What to Do if Your Payment Is Delayed

If your SSDI payment is delayed, it’s important to act promptly. First, contact your bank to see if there are any issues with processing. If no issues are found, reach out to the SSA directly at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) or visit your local Social Security office to resolve the issue.

When Can a Widow Collect Her Husband’s Social Security Benefits?

Note that if you are worried that your payment was stolen, you should contact the SSA immediately. Otherwise, they request that you wait at least three business days after the date you should have received your check to contact your local office or call them at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) on Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
