2024 NFL Scouting Combine: Timings, Platform to Watch, and more

The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine is a crucial event for college football players aspiring to play professionally in the NFL, featuring over 300 top players showcasing their skills.

2024 NFL Scouting Combine: Football players in college who aspire to play professionally in the NFL must attend the NFL Scouting Combine. More than 300 of the top college football players will be present before coaches, general managers, and scouts to showcase their skills.

This is an important pre-draft event where players may enhance their football profiles and show off their skills to national clubs and supporters, enhancing their chances of getting selected by new teams. The athletes’ draft placements may be directly impacted by how well they perform at the Combine.

In order to evaluate candidates’ athleticism, speed, strength, agility, and football IQ, the combine consists of a series of standardised tests, activities, and interviews. Among the essential elements of the NFL Combine are:

  • Physical Measurements: To give teams accurate physical profiles, players are assessed for height, weight, arm length, hand size, and wingspan.
  • Bench Press: To assess upper body strength and endurance, players lift a 225-pound barbell repeatedly.
  • 40-Yard Dash: Players sprint 40 yards from a standstill position to gauge their acceleration and speed. This event is often considered as one of the most anticipated.
  • Vertical Jump: In order to gauge leg strength and lower body explosiveness, athletes jump vertically.
  • Broad Jump: To gauge a player’s lower body power and explosiveness, they must leap horizontally.
  • Three-Cone Drill: This exercise assesses players’ dexterity, agility, and ability to change direction by having them go across a grid of cones.
  • 20-Yard Shuttle: To evaluate lateral quickness and agility, players shuttle back and forth across a 20-yard course.
