Asics Falmouth Road Race Results: In the women’s race, Boston Marathon champion Hellen Obiri completed the seven-mile course in 35 minutes and thirteen seconds, continuing her transition from track to road running. The 33-year-old exhibited patience during the early phases of the race before breaking away to win.

Obiri, a two-time world champion and two-time Olympic silver medalist in the track event, stated, “I was considering making my move at four miles.”

“The uphill was difficult for me, but I knew it would be all downhill from there on out, and it was an incredible finish.”

Emily Sisson, a marathon champion and national record holder over that distance, was the first American to cross the finish line on Sunday in second place, clocking in at 35:32, followed by Kenya’s Cynthia Jerotich in third at 35:50.

Sisson attempted to remain with Obiri early in the race, but the veteran Kenyan runner found another gear and pulled away from her American competitor.

Sisson stated, “I am always a bit more anxious during a marathon build.” “I’m exhausted, but it gives me confidence that I’ll perform well in the marathon. My objective was to get as near to Hellen as possible.

The men’s race was dominated by Kenyan runners, including race victor Wesley Kiptoo, who posted a time of 31:08 despite being unmatched by the majority of competitors.

Kiptoo, who finished fifth in last year’s Asics Falmouth Road Race, narrowly missed surpassing the course record by one second. Had he not begun his celebrations prematurely, he would have broken the record.

John Korir, also of Kenya, placed second with a time of 31:34, followed by compatriot Edwin Kurgat in third with a time of 31:37.
