BMW Championship 2023: The field has been reduced to 50 players, but the stakes have risen as golfers make their way to Olympia Fields Country Club for the 2023 BMW Championship. The BMW Championship will serve as the penultimate event of the postseason in 2020, returning to the location of the thrilling playoff between Dustin Johnson and Jon Rahm. Players will compete for a top-30 finish in the season-long race to qualify for next week’s Tour Championship.

Players who qualify for this week’s field will be able to compete in next year’s marquee events, but major championship exemptions, playing status and many other things are still up for grabs. After a less-than-stellar postseason debut at the St. Jude Championship, Rahm found himself in first place. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and a fiery Rory McIlroy, who has eight straight top-10 finishes dating back to the PGA Championship in May, are right behind him.

Lucas Glover, who rose from 130th in the FedEx Cup to fourth after only eight rounds and winning two trophies, might be the hottest player right now. The 43-year-old hopes to unseat the three-headed monster in the lead by emulating Billy Horschel’s postseason performance in 2014.

reigning two-time BMW Championship Patrick Cantlay aspires to become the first person to win a tournament three years in a row since Steve Stricker in 2011. They are joined by Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth, and Collin Morikawa, who are all in strong standing but have yet to win this year. Prior to the staggered start at East Lake, Rickie Fowler, Viktor Hovland, and Max Homa hope to increase their totals and raise their positions.
