FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 schedule: The prestigious 2023 FIBA World Basketball Championship has officially begun.
32 teams are competing for the title of world champion, with the final taking place on September 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila.
All participating nations are divided into eight groups of four teams for the first group phase.
The best two teams from the first round will advance to the second round, which consists of four groups of four teams. Here, each squad faces the two teams in its group that it did not face in the initial group stage.
The positions for 17-32 will be determined by classification matches between the bottom two teams.
Following the second round, the quarterfinals will consist of the best two teams from the second round. The semifinals will be followed by the final.
In addition to determining the next world champion, the World Cup will also distribute the initial set of quotas for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The top two teams from Europe and the Americas, as well as the top teams from Africa, Asia, and Oceania, will qualify.
