Teams for the Champions Trophy 2025

In its early years, this cricket tournament was called the ICC Knockout. It began in 1998 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and went on to play in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2000. The tournament didn’t get its name as the ICC Champions Trophy until 2002.

At first, the game happened every two years until 2009. That year was different because the event that was supposed to happen in Pakistan had to be canceled, so it was moved to South Africa. Since then, the ICC Champions Trophy has been held every four years instead of every two years. The tournament will include the host country, Pakistan, and the top seven teams from the group stage of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. This will pave the way for the 2025 event.

Format for the Cricket Champions Trophy in 2025

In 2025, the Champions Trophy will be set up in a relatively traditional way. It has four teams, split into two groups. The best two teams from each group move on to the semi-finals, and the winner goes to the grand final. It is important to note, though, that the qualification method, which was approved by the ICC board in 2021, could make it harder for teams like England and Bangladesh to get into the competition.

Scenario for Qualifying for the Champions Trophy in 2025

Looking at the current situation, England is in 10th place in the World Cup results with only two points, while Bangladesh is in 9th place with the same number of points to England. With three games left in the league, both teams have to pull off a huge comeback to get into the top seven.
