El Salvador is set to compete in the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup, aiming to become the greatest team in Central America and the Caribbean.
The inaugural CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup is about to begin, with 12 teams vying to be named the greatest team in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The tournament aims to develop women’s soccer in member nations and foster rivalry among them.
Three playoff games in the preliminary round will take place on Saturday, February 17th. Nine countries have already qualified for the tournament, and six will compete for the remaining three berths in the group stage.
Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, will host back-to-back single-leg ties between El Salvador and Guatemala, Guyana and the Dominican Republic, and Haiti and Puerto Rico. All matches will be played to the finish.
The group stage of the final W Gold Cup event runs through Thursday, February 29. It starts on Tuesday, February 20. The twelve competitors will fight in three four-team groups, with the two best third-placed nations as well as the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.
The final eight matches are scheduled for Saturday, March 2, and Sunday, March 3. Wednesday, March 6 will host the semifinals. The two last-four matches and the championship game will take place on Sunday, March 10, at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California.
