After spending his first four seasons playing for the Los Angeles Rams, John Johnson III switched to the Cleveland Browns for the last two. However, the Browns released the seasoned safety in March. Johnson is now ready to make his comeback for the Rams, who have young safeties in Jordan Fuller, Russ Yeast, Quentin Lake, and Jason Taylor II. He will give the group experience and adaptability. The Rams’ defence will likely get stronger with his arrival.

In 2021, John Johnson III agreed to sign a three-year, $33.75 million contract with the Cleveland Browns. He struggled during his stint with the team to come up with crucial plays that may win games. In 32 games with the Browns, he recorded 162 tackles, 4 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and a sack.

Prior to his career with the Browns, Johnson played for the Los Angeles Rams for four seasons after being taken in the third round of the 2017 draught. He started 48 games while playing for the Rams, and he was crucial to the team’s journey to the 2018 Super Bowl.

Brian Pierre served as John Johnson III’s football coach at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. While a student there, Johnson showed his skill as a wide receiver and safety. He recorded 50 total tackles, 13 pass deflections, six tackles for a loss, and five interceptions during his senior season.

On January 28, 2017, he agreed to compete in the Senior Bowl for the North, which lost to the South 15-16. He met with the Indianapolis Colts before the Senior Bowl and had a productive practise week. Johnson took part in the NFL combine and successfully completed all the required positional drills.
