Lionel Messi’s To Leave from PSG

Saturday, Paris St. Germain (PSG) announced that Lionel Messi will leave the Ligue 1 club at the end of the current season. PSG signed Messi in August of 2021 with the intent of winning the Champions League.

“After two seasons in the French capital, Leo Messi’s adventure with Paris St Germain will conclude at the end of the 2022–23 season,” PSG host Clermont announced during the final round of Ligue 1 action on Saturday.

PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi thanked Lionel Messi for his two years of devotion to the club, stating, “I would like to thank Leo Messi for his two years in Paris. It’s been a delight to see a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner in the Rouge & Bleu and at Parc des Princes, winning back-to-back Ligue 1 titles and inspiring our younger players,” said a member of the club’s coaching staff.

His contributions to Paris Saint-Germain and Ligue 1 cannot be overstated, and we wish Leo and his family well in the future. Nasser al-Khelaifi added

Last month, Messi was suspended by the club for an unapproved journey to Saudi Arabia. The 35-year-old is required by his commercial contract with Saudi Arabia to promote tourism in the country.
