Wimbledon record prize money: Record-Breaking Prize Pool for Summer Tournament

Wimbledon announces a record-breaking prize pool of £50 million for this summer's players, including Carlos Alcaraz, Marketa Vondrousova, and a new record for the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

Wimbledon record prize money: Wimbledon has declared that this summer’s players will compete for a prize pool of £50 million. The competition’s most recent iteration will take place the following month. It is scheduled to start on July 1 and last for two weeks, ending on July 14.

Carlos Alcaraz is set to defend his title from a year ago and win another Wimbledon title to go along with his earlier-this-month French Open victory. Additionally, Marketa Vondrousova hopes to recover the prize that she unexpectedly won in 2023.

In addition to prizes to be won, the All England Lawn Tennis Club has announced a record-breaking prize fund. More than £50 million is up for grabs for the first time—an 11.9% rise over the previous year.

The Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon are the four Grand Slams with the highest total prize money, while the US Open is significantly less profitable.

Still, in terms of prize money awarded to singles competition winners, the Flushing Meadows tournament comes in second, with the Australian Open being the least lucrative of the four.
