iOS 17.3 Update: A Comprehensive Guide to the Latest Features for Your iPhone!

Apple's iOS 17.3 update introduces enhanced security features, bug corrections, and new features like Stolen Device Protection, following the December release of iOS 17.2.

iOS 17.3 Update: The iOS update additionally provides your phone with enhanced security features, bug corrections, and more. Following the December release of iOS 17.2, Apple made iOS 17.3 available to the general public in January. Important problem fixes and new features, such as Stolen Device Protection, are included in the most recent update for your iPhone.

Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update, select Install Now, and then follow the on-screen instructions to obtain the update.

IOS 17.3 includes the following for your iPhone:

Protective Device Stolen

iOS 17.3 from Apple introduces Stolen Device Protection for iPhones, an initiative designed to enhance the security of users and their data.

Stolen Device Protection, according to CNET’s David Lumb, requires you to input your biometric authentication multiple times to access sensitive settings and information, such as your Apple ID password. This includes Face ID and Touch ID. When attempting to modify these settings, a novel mechanism known as security delay is activated by this feature.

When attempting to modify these settings while not in a familiar environment (e.g., at home), Stolen Device Protection will necessitate two entries of biometric information (e.g., fingerprint or facial scan): one at the outset and another one hour later. However, since Stolen Device Protection only safeguards a limited number of configurations, additional precautions must be taken to safeguard sensitive data, such as social media accounts. Although this is a discretionary security measure, Apple advises all users to activate it.

Novel Unity Bloom backdrop

As a tribute to Black History Month, iOS 17.3 equips all iPhones with a new wallpaper known as Unity Bloom. According to Apple, the wallpaper features a flower outline that changes color when the display is on.

Apple Music collaborative arrangements

Apple introduces collaborative playlists for Apple Music subscribers in iOS 17.3. Multiple users can modify and manage shared playlists on the music streaming platform using this function. Additionally, you can respond to a song in a collaborative playlist that someone else has added by using an emoji. Thus, you can instantaneously communicate whether or not you enjoy a particular track on the playlist.

At WWDC 2023 in June, Apple announced collaborative arrangements in Apple Music. Although some iOS 17.2 beta versions incorporated the feature, it was omitted from the final release of that update.
