Leaked OnePlus Open Renders Unveil Wider Aspect Ratio: The highly-anticipated OnePlus Open, slated for release this year, will signal the company’s entry into the foldable market. With leaks and rumours already casting light on key details, new renders of the phone have emerged to provide a more accurate depiction of the device’s appearance.
These images, based on a pre-production unit viewed by @OnLeaks and shared by SmartPrix, display a significantly wider aspect ratio than early prototypes. The rounded edges visible in the renderings not only improve the device’s ergonomics, but also suggest that it may be usable with one hand.
According to the leaked images, the back of the OnePlus Open will have a faux leather-like finish, lending a premium touch to the device. In addition, the positioning of the speakers has been adjusted strategically to enhance sound quality.
Reportedly, the selfie camera inside the foldable screen has been moved from the left corner to the right corner of the display. This modification enhances the aesthetics and functionality of the device.
Interestingly, the OnePlus Open resembles Oppo’s Find N2, possibly indicating that the two BBK companies share design layouts. However, OnePlus is anticipated to incorporate unique modifications, such as larger displays and a synthetic leather back, distinguishing it from its competitor.
Upon closer inspection, the foldable device’s circular camera island appears to include a Time-of-Flight (ToF) or LiDAR sensor for enhanced autofocus capabilities. The ‘Hasselblad’ logo could be substituted for a ‘H’ logo.
The left-side alert slider and the right-side power button with incorporated fingerprint scanner are additional design elements.
According to rumours, the debut of the OnePlus Open was delayed due to a last-minute switch to a Samsung display panel. Numerous design modifications depicted in the renders of the pre-production unit indicate that OnePlus has made significant modifications to the original plan.
