With Huawei’s commitment to self-reliance, the Kirin 9000S powering its flagship Mate 60 series last year was followed by the Kirin 9010S, which could be earmarked for its upcoming flagship P70 series.
Huawei’s MatePad Pro, one of Huawei’s premium tablets, is expected to be powered by a new iteration of the Kirin chipset. Although comprehensive details about this chipset are elusive, the device is reportedly equipped with the Kirin 9000W, according to the available specifications.
Huawei refutes allegations of government orders for smartphones amidst accelerating market growth
The MatePad Pro has a 13.2-inch display with a flexible OLED display and a resolution of 2880 x 1920. As an alternative to a laptop, the tablet offers up to 512GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM. Creative professionals are particularly interested in the Smart Magnetic Keyboard and the third-generation M-Pencil accessory because they support them.
Even though specific cluster details were not provided on the product page, the Kirin 9000W is reputed to contain an octa-core processor, which is reportedly powering these advanced features and user experiences. In contrast, Huawei’s Nova 12 series included the recently launched Kirin 9000SL, which featured a 9-core cluster. In terms of configuration, it may adopt a similar design to the Kirin 9000S, but with higher frequencies, utilizing the larger surface area of the MatePad Pro to achieve effective temperature control.
Barely surviving, growth no longer a priority: Chinese tech giant Huawei’s warning
SMIC and Huawei have not yet exceeded 7nm, so Kirin 9000W is likely to be manufactured on the same. Despite being on the horizon, China’s leading semiconductor company wants to advance manufacturing processes. The presence of Huawei in a tablet implies that it may be rebranded Kirin 9000S with improved performance. We cannot draw definitive conclusions until new benchmarks are available.
