National Education Day Quotes: In India, National Education Day is observed annually on November 11 to commemorate the first Education Minister of the country, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, on the date of her birth. Azad was a scholar, activist, and Congress party leader. In addition to leading the Khilafat Movement, Azad assisted in the organization of the Non-Cooperation Movement as a liberation fighter. Subsequent to his election as party president in 1923, he held the position from 1940 to 1945. Eleven years after India’s independence, Maulana Azad assumed the position of education minister.
