Gaules Employment

Gaule eventually gained the go-ahead from Monkey Tatuapé to captain a junior squad. In 2001, he went to Rio de Janeiro with the senior squad and was given the chance to play in the Cyberathlete Professional League when a player was having trouble. From then on, Gaules “never left the team again.” Along with Rodrigo “crash” Rodrigues, Igor “VIP” Melro, Feijaum, and Mee, he co-founded g3nerationX (g3x) in July 2001. The group won their first championship. Feijaum and Mee left g3x following the victory, to be replaced by Carlos Henrique “Kiko” Segal, Rafael “BlooD” Frid, and Raphael “cogu” Camargo. The squad then participated in and won the Brazilian portion of the World Cyber Games, an international esports competition. They qualified for and placed 7–8th in the global final. As far as Gaules is concerned, g3x won all of their matches from late 2001 to 2003. g3x won the World Cyber Games Brazil in 2005, the CPL World Season 2006: Brazil, and the LatinCup in 2004. Gaules took over as manager and coach of the squad when it joined Made in Brazil’s (MIBR) “Counter-Strike” lineup in 2007. DreamHack Winter 2007 was won by his MIBR squad.

2008 saw Gaules forsake esports in favor of a regular career after he was offered an internship at Samsung. He was chosen by Samsung to be the “first employee to be hired without a degree” and received an award for having “made a difference in the company.” He brought Samsung to the World Cyber Games in 2010, and upon realizing that Brazil “was still too far behind the other countries,” he made the decision to go back into esports. In order to create movies for Brazilian teams and sponsors, Gaules established a production firm. In 2011, he established the Brazilian Game Team (SBG). Later on, he founded the Brazil Gaming League, X5 Agency, and X5 Mega Arena. He was declared to have serious depression in 2017, and he lost everything because he “invested in things that didn’t work out.” Gaules made an attempt at suicide in late 2017, recalling the moment as “I stopped and thought that even that [the suicide] I couldn’t do, so it meant that something very big was coming.” to that point in his life. That’s when I made the decision to change the circumstance. I had nowhere to live, no job, no girlfriend, no bank account, and no companion. At that point, I realized I had created a story that was extremely valuable.” After receiving support from his former g3x teammates, he managed to get back on his feet and began Twitch streaming in 2018. Gaules has acknowledged that his supporters, or “the tribe,” have assisted him in overcoming his sadness.

2020 saw Gaules compete in the Twitch Rivals tournament, form a collaboration with Omelete Company, and start an outreach program to support Black streamers who were a part of Wakanda Streamers. NBA games were first officially streamed on Twitch by Gaules in 2021. The following year, he started broadcasting the podcast “Fenômenos” (“Phenomenons”). He inked a sponsorship agreement with Red Bull in March 2022, becoming a member of the company’s athlete and player roster. He also took on the role of head of gaming at the Brazilian e-commerce startup KaBuM! in 2022. As part of the “No Heartburn Will Stop the Tribe” campaign, he was chosen as a brand ambassador for the antacid brand Eno.
