Maria Brink was born on December 18, 1977, into a dysfunctional home in New York. Her father deserted the family during her early years. Brink became pregnant at the age of 14, which led to her discontinuing her education in high school. Following the birth of her son, Davion, she relocated to an apartment and commenced employment at a nearby laundromat to maintain financial stability. Brink became a member of her inaugural musical group, Pulse, situated in Albany, New York, in 1995.
