Satish Kaushik’s Early Life
Satish Kaushik originated from a very modest family. According to news18.com, before he became famous in Bollywood, he worked in a textile mill for Rs 400 per month. In 1979, he travelled to Mumbai to pursue his ambition of becoming a thespian.
Film Industry
He entered the film industry as a stage actor. His performances in the Hindi drama “Salesman Ramlal” earned him praise. It is an adaptation of Arthur Miller’s play Death of a Salesman. Later, in 1987, he made his film debut with “Mr India.” In 1990, Satish won his first Filmfare Award for his performance in “Ram Lakhan.” In 1997, he received another Filmfare award for Saajan Chale Sasural.
He also contributed as a screenwriter, writing dialogue for the 1983 film Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron. In addition to acting, he was a prominent filmmaker in the industry. His directorial début was Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja in 1993.The film featured Sridevi in the main role and performed poorly at the box office. Later, in 1995, he directed the box-office failure “Prem,” which he also helmed. His additional works consist of Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rahte Hain and Vaada.
In 2007, Satish co-founded the film production company Karol Bagh Productions with Anupam Kher. In addition to his work on the big screen, he starred in the comedy series The Great Indian Family Drama. He appeared alongside Rakul Preet Singh and Sumeet Vyas in the film Chhatriwali.

Born on 13 April 1956 in Mahendragarh, Haryana. After graduating from Kirori Mal College in Delhi, he enrolled in the National School of Drama to study film. He wed Sashi Kaushik in 1985, and they have two children together. Their first child passed away at two, and they later welcomed a second child via surrogacy.
Additionally, Satish was a partner in the Chandigarh Film City initiative with Parsvanath Developers. They had purchased 30 acres of land in Chandigarh at a discount. The initiative was cancelled as a result of media action.
