William Ospreay Biography: The professional wrestler William Peter Charles Ospreay is signed to the New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). Some athletes challenge our preconceived notions of how humans can perform, and Will Ospreay is one of them.

He received his training at the London School of Lucha Libre of Lucha Britannia in Bethnal Green, London, where a match between A.J. Styles, Christopher Daniels, and Samoa Joe had an impact on him. On April 1, 2012, he made his professional debut at the jointly promoted BritWres-Fest as the disguised character Dark Britannico, who was the evil twin of Leon Britannico, played by Paul Robinson, Ospreay’s future tag team partner in the team The Swords of Essex. As a wrestler with Lucha Britannia, he won two Lucha Britannia World Championships. In an interview with the Huffington Post, Ospreay explained that his nickname, “The Aerial Assassin,” was an allusion to the Assassin’s Creed video game series and an attempt to distinguish himself from other British high-flying wrestlers.

On February 10, 2013, Ospreay won a match against Mike Hitchman in Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro). With Paul Robinson, he began participating in tag matches as a member of the Swords of Essex. By defeating Project Ego (Kris Travis and Martin Kirby) on June 15, 2013, during RevPro’s first show at York Hall, he gained contenders after winning against the London Riots. In a singles match against Ricochet, The Swords of Essex lost the British Tag Team Championship on March 15, 2014.

Will Ospreay Personal Life

A professional wrestler by the name of Bea Priestley was born in England and New Zealand on March 22, 1996. She has been dating Will Ospreay since 2017.

From 2017 to 2021, Bea competed in World Wonder Ring competitions as Blair Davenport while on contract with WWE.

In New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Bea appeared as Will Ospreay’s valet, her lover.

Additionally, she has appeared in Progress Wrestling, Defiant Wrestling, World of Sport Wrestling, and All Elite Wrestling.

At the age of 14, doctors diagnosed him with a brain tumor, and at the age of 18, he underwent surgery.

As a result of their wrestling schedules, the couple admitted in 2019 that they intended to move to Japan. However, they were unable to maintain their relationship, and they broke up in 2021.

Will Ospreay Age and Appearance

A wrestler born in 1993 is 30 years of age at present. According to the Chinese calendar, Will Ospreay was born in the year of the Rooster.

In addition, Will has the zodiac sign Taurus because he was born in May. Will is physically well-built with a powerful, muscular body. He weighs 105 kilograms and stands 6 feet 1 inches tall.

Is Will devoted to his parents despite his tendency toward violence?

He rarely divulges information about his family, but the wrestler recently revealed that his father had recently been diagnosed with cancer.

Will Ospreay Professional Career

His career began on the independent circuit in 2012 and he is now considered one of the world’s top professional wrestlers.

In 2016, he joined New Japan Pro Wrestling as a junior heavyweight after receiving AJ Styles’ recommendation.

The fact that AJ Styles was Will’s idol growing up makes it all the more significant that he was able to sign with New Japan Pro Wrestling in the manner he did.

As a result of Styles helped Will Ospreay get to New Japan, he looked up to and was inspired by him.

Furthermore, Ospreay’s talent for hitting and his ability to incorporate high-flying elements into his technique are similar to AJ’s.

After winning the Best of the Super Juniors in 2016 and 2019, Ospreay was crowned the third IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.

During that same year, he competed in the G1 Climax, the most spectacular NJPW event for heavyweight wrestlers. In 2020, he changed weight classes and won the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Will Ospreay Wrestling Frontline

In 2018, Ospreay announced that frontline wrestling would be his promotion. Frontline is a British Puroresu-style company that seeks to reestablish wrestling as a legitimate sport in England.

It was on June 28, 2018, that they held their first meeting, entitled “Build Me An Empire.” Wrestlers typically market themselves after retiring and seeking to contribute to the sport in new ways after they retire.

Ospreay’s advancement was only momentary. Will, however, sold Frontline on the anniversary of the offer to relocate to Japan and take up a full-time position with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

However, the fact that he is participating in the activity in the first place indicates his interest in the industry.

Will Ospreay All Elite Wrestling

It was on June 8, 2022, that the All Elite Wrestling edition of AEW Dynamite featured Will making his surprise debut. Will, along with stablemates Aaron Henare, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis of the Aussie Open attacked Trent Beretta and FTR.

Two weeks earlier, Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb, teammates on United Empire, attacked Roppongi Vice and FTR in their AEW Dynamite debuts.

During the AEW Rampage of 2022, Beretta and FTR defeated Davis and Fletcher of the Aussie Open and Will of the United Empire.

As part of the special Road Rager Dynamite episode broadcast on June 15, Will defeated Dax Harwood in his singles debut.

Will and his fellow United Empire teammates attacked FTR and Roppongi Vice once more after the match, but Orange Cassidy stopped them by glaring at Ospreay.

AEW-NJPW: Forbidden Door scheduled a male singles contest for Ospreay’s newly acquired IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship shortly after that.

The wrestler at AEW-NJPW: Forbidden Door successfully defended the IWGP US Heavyweight Title against Orange Cassidy.

Immediately following the game, Ospreay and Aussie Open attacked Cassidy and Roppongi Vice. Katsuyori Shibata fired a shot to stop the attack.

Dispute with Pollyanna

Pollyanna, a former wrestler, alleged that Will blocked her as a result of the Speaking Out campaign. Ospreay’s friend and fellow Swords of Essex teammate Scott Wainwright was the target of Pollyanna’s claims.

A venue had removed Pollyanna from an event at Ospreay’s request, the International Wrestling League (IWL) tweeted.

IWL later revealed that the venue had requested her removal rather than Ospreay’s. The IWL Twitter user later acknowledged that the pretended proof consisted of their interpretation of an “unclear circumstance”.
