Young Thug was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 16, 1991. There are eleven other children in his family. David Lamar Williams is his real name. Young Thug was born and raised in Zone 3, which is the same poor part of Atlanta where artists like Waka Flocka Flame, 2 Chainz, and Ludacris came from. Reports say Williams was a naughty kid who broke his teacher’s arm in sixth grade and went to juvenile prison for four years.

Before he turned 20, Young Thug made his debut on TruRoyal’s “She Can Go.” So, between 2011 and 2012, Young Thug put out a lot of mixtapes. The mixtapes called “I Came From Nothing” came out. American rapper Gucci Mane signed Young Thug to 1017 Brick Squad.
Young Thug’s unique sound became more well-known when Gucci Mane’s label put out his mixtapes. Lots of people thought he would be a big new rapper. Many people know Young Thug from his work with Waka Flocka Flame and Travis Scott.
