CBSE Board Exam 2024 Official SOP, guidelines released for class 10, 12 practicals; check details

Earlier, CBSE had issued dates for practical exams and internal assessments separately for regular session schools, and winter bound schools.

CBSE Board Exam 2024 Official SOP: The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines for the upcoming CBSE Class 10, 12 board exam 2024.

CBSE Board Exam 2024: The board has instructed to carry it out as mentioned below:

School Type Session Period
Winter Bound Schools 14th November to 14th December, 2023
Regular Session Schools 1st January, 2024 to 14th February, 2024

In a letter sent to principals and school heads of affiliated institutions, the guidelines for the Practical Exam 2024 were published.

The notice states, “To bring in uniformity of instructions and to ensure the correctness of procedures ‘Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the conduct of Practical Examinations/Project/Internal Assessment’ of both the classes have been prepared by the Board.”

Additionally, the notice informs that no corrections will be permitted to the uploaded marks by the board.

CBSE Board Exam 2024 Official SOP and guidelines for practical exams

According to the notification, the following instructions are provided for the conduct of practical exams for students in classes 10 and 12:

  • Marks for practical examinations must be uploaded simultaneously, starting with the start of the exam and ending by the last class date.

  • School districts are responsible for arranging practical answer books for students in Class 10; the Board does not provide practical answer books. Once the exams are over, students’ practical answer books are not required to be sent to the regional office.

  • For practical exams and project assessments in specific subjects, the Board will appoint external examiners.

  • Unless otherwise instructed, payments for duty-assigned individuals will be made through the Integrated Payment System.

  • In the event that schools fail to comply with the Board’s directions, the Board reserves the right to cancel the practical examination.

  • Private students will be awarded marks for Practical Exams, Projects, and Internal Assessments in accordance with the Board’s policy as outlined in its Bye-laws. If a re-conduct is necessary, it will also follow the Board’s policy.

  • Students sponsored through the list of candidates for classes X and XII will be evaluated on the basis of their eligibility and bonafide status through practical examinations, projects, and internal assessments. A school should promptly contact the regional office if any student’s name is not included on the subject list.
