“By achieving this goal, Bangalore University would obtain entire autonomy and national recognition. It has also increased the employability of students. It has also been granted the authority to establish off-campus programmes within the country and abroad, hybrid and online courses, apply for Institutional eminence, student exchange programmes, and enhanced foreign ties/collaborations for research initiatives, according to vice chancellor Jayakar M. Shetty.
In the previous two cycles, BU had received an A grade and a 3.16 cumulative grade point average. From May 17 through May 19, 2023, the NAAC delegation visited Bangalore University.
Officials at BU attributed the accomplishment to a number of reforms, including the introduction of a digital evaluation system, the introduction of new undergraduate and graduate courses, an increase in faculty publications, and the highest research funding in the last five years (“around 130 crores”). Additionally, it features a high citation index, enhanced support for students from underrepresented groups, and biodiversity conservation.
“The university offers 108 graduate and undergraduate programmes as well as 42 doctoral programmes. Additionally, it has become the most preferred location for higher education. This is evident from the average demand ratio over the past five years, which has been 1:7. “For some courses, the demand-supply ratio exceeds 1:20,” he said.
