The Bihar government has given a big relaxation in regular reinstatement to the employees working in various departments after being reinstated on contract. Under this, if any contractual worker is working on the post and they apply for regular reinstatement in the same post, then they will be given priority. For their satisfactory service rendered every year, a maximum weightage or relaxation of 25 marks will be given at the rate of five marks per annum. Similarly, relaxation of time equivalent to the period of work done after contractual employment will be given in the upper age limit. Part of any working year will also be included in this but the benefit of age relaxation will not be given in cases where it is not allowed under the Act or the Recruitment Rules. For example, the law or the appointment manual does not allow relaxation in the age limit in police appointments or in many other such cases. The benefit of age relaxation will not be given in such cases.
With the release of its notification by the General Administration Department on Thursday, it has also been implemented. Information about issuance of notification has been sent to Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Secretary, Head of Department, DGP, Divisional Commissioner and DM of all departments.
The General Administration Department has issued detailed guidelines regarding giving weightage to contractual workers. In this, all the departments have been asked to take action accordingly. According to this, in order to give weightage to experience, if any year comes incomplete or a worker has worked only for a few months of the year, then in such a situation, the number of working days of the candidate should be multiplied by five to determine the weightage score. After that it has to be divided by 365 and proportionate marks will be added to the answer obtained.

Apart from this, in the matter of giving weightage on the basis of experience, it is necessary to keep in mind the prescribed guidance from authorized institutions or other institutions like University Grants Commission and All India Council for Technical Education. That is, in cases where the guidance given from the level of these authorized institutions is applicable, the eligibility and weightage of appointment will be as per the guidance.
