BTC UP DElEd trainees doing BEd by distance mode will get allowance of Rs 2 lakh each

Despite training in the specific BTC 2004 batch, the way has been cleared for getting stipend (allowance) of more than two lakh rupees to about 500 unemployed people of the state who were deprived of the post of assistant teacher. On February 18, 2020, the High Court had ordered the state government to give an allowance of Rs 2500 per month till the appointment after the completion of the training, according to the mandate, to those taking training in the specific BTC 2004 doing BEd by distance method.

Against this, the state government had filed an SLP in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court rejected this in a hearing on 11 July. Vijay Mishra of Jaunpur, Vandana Singh of Kanpur, Narendra Pratap Singh of Ballia, Nisha Mishra of Prayagraj, Kaptan Singh of Muzaffarnagar etc. say that since September 2014, seven years nine months’ allowance is added at the rate of 2500 rupees per month. 2.32 lakh dues of the trainee is made on the government.

Degree was invalid for recruitment

Hundreds of candidates who had done B.Ed through distance education method had taken admission for training in the specific BTC 2004 batch. But his degree was invalidated by the state government for appointment to the post of assistant teacher in council primary schools. On 26 October 2007, on the petition of distance degree holders against this, the High Court considered them eligible for appointment.
