Complex arthroscopic shoulder surgery done at JNMCH

Complex arthroscopic shoulder surgery: Malti Prashar, a 55-year-old Hathras resident who was experiencing severe pain in her right shoulder following an injury sustained a year prior, underwent a challenging arthroscopic shoulder surgery under the direction of a team of orthopaedic consultants at the J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University. She visited Sports OPD, JNMCH complaining of uncomfortable shoulder motions, and there a rotator cuff tear in her shoulder was discovered. The specialists recommended arthroscopic surgery of the rotator cuff after a complete radiological assessment (MRI).

The anaesthetic team was led by Dr. Abu Nadeem, and the surgical team included Drs. M. J. Khan (Consultant), Chandan Singh (SR), M. Ahsan Firoz, and Pranjal Agrawal (JRs).

According to Dr. M. J. Khan, rotator cuff tears occur often and require pricey treatment in corporate hospitals. He claimed that this operation is now offered at JNMCH for the lowest feasible cost, saving people from Aligarh and surrounding areas the need to go to major cities.

The fact that our surgeons are performing sophisticated surgeries in Aligarh will spare patients from the high costs associated with such treatments in major cities, according to Prof. A.Q. Khan, Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, is a source of pride for the department and the college.
