Hindi Diwas Speech

Respected chief guest, teachers and my dear colleagues…
Today is Hindi day. Today is Hindi Day. Hindi Diwas is celebrated in the country on 14th September every year. Hindi was declared the official language on 14 September 1949, two years after independence. After this, at the behest of the Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti to promote Hindi, from 1953, September 14 was celebrated as Hindi Diwas every year all over India. Hindi Divas was celebrated for the first time in the country on 14 September 1953.

Hindi Diwas has a very special significance for every Indian citizen. India is a country full of diversity. People of different religion and caste live here. People of different languages, dialects, different costumes, food and culture live there. It is the Hindi language that unites all the people of the country in the thread of unity. Hindi has a great contribution in keeping the country one. The Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi had called Hindi the language of the masses. Hindi has given us recognition all over the world.

In today’s time people are engaged in bringing English language to every part of their life, but it is also true that Hindi language has its own importance. Just as no one can take the place of your mother, similarly no one can take the place of our mother tongue Hindi.

Friends, even after 75 years of independence, the desire of the freedom fighters to make Hindi the national language remains unfulfilled. Hindi language has become the official language of the country. Today there are people who understand Hindi speaking in every state all over the country. People in non-Hindi language states also know improvised Hindi. Even though officially Hindi is not the national language of the country, it is only the official language, in practice it is the universal language of this country. In such a situation, today there is a need to unite to get Hindi its rightful right.

In the end, I would like to end my speech with a few lines-
We are hindi
India is our country.
All where the good Hindustan is ours.
Jai Hind Jai Bharat.
Thank you.
