ICSI to soon open doors for Agniveers: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India will presumably enrol Agniveers in its courses in the near future. The ICSI has recently initiated discussions with the United States Department of Defence to expand their course offerings to all military personnel.
ISCI national president CS Manish Gupta told the Times of India on the sidelines of the 24th national conference of practising company secretaries being held in Visakhapatnam that the ICSI presently has two lakh students, including 3,500 from Andhra Pradesh. “The initiative, if implemented, will assist the Agniveers in finding employment following the conclusion of their brief service. Recently, we met with the minister of defence, Rajnath Singh, and discussed our academic and training offerings.
We offer close to forty specialised courses. We intend to provide complimentary admission to Agniveers and military personnel. On June 19, another meeting with defence officials has been scheduled. The meeting could result in memorandums of understanding concerning course offerings. Manish Gupta stated that this initiative not only helps to hone the skills and improve the academic credentials of Agniveers, but also assists them in relocating and finding corporate employment following their service.
