In light of the elections for the Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) in 2022, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has decided to close its doors on December 4th.
According to the official notice distributed by the JMI, “The university and all of its maintained institutions, departments, centres, and offices, including Jamia schools and the university library, shall stay closed on December 4 because of the MCD election 2022.”
On December 4, 2022, the elections for the 250 wards of the Delhi Municipal Corporation will take place in a total of 13,665 voting stations across the city.
Due to the preparation for the MCD polling, the directorate of education (DoE) has also declared a holiday for all government schools in the national capital on December 3.
Despite the fact that it is the second Saturday of the month, the Department of Education circular has advised all schools to begin the following school year on December 10, 2022.
