Admission to MBBS seats will be extremely competitive this year. This year, a record 21 lakh applications were received for the NEET UG medical entrance exam. In comparison, 18.72 lakh students applied last year. NEET will be used to determine admission to MBBS seats in medical colleges across the country. Apart from this, admission in BDS, BHMM, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS will also be done through this. Some schools will accept NEET scores for B.Sc Nursing. Every student wishes to be accepted into an MBBS programme. However, there are only 101388 MBBS seats available in the country’s 662 government and private medical colleges. That is, there will be 20 candidates for one seat this time. There are approximately 52800 MBBS seats available in government medical colleges, with the remaining 48300 seats available in private medical colleges.

NEET exam pattern
This year also NEET paper will be of 720 marks only. There is no change in the exam pattern. One question will be of four marks. There will be negative marking. One mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. There will be 35 questions in Section A, 15 questions in Section B in all the four subjects Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Any 10 out of 15 questions will have to be attempted. Students have to attempt 180 questions out of 200.
