Modern technology combined with human leadership: Jammu, June 16: Manoj Sinha, lieutenant governor of Maharashtra, said on Friday that technology alone will not transform businesses in the future, but that modern technology combined with human leadership will be the most potent tool for human prosperity and advancement in history.
Today, Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship; Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, and Dr Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State, spoke at the 6th Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Institute of Management, Jammu.
Lt. Governor Sinha made this observation while addressing the students at the 6th Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu. He stated, “India is emerging as a new knowledge economy on the global horizon, and its growth is exponential. Transformational work in every sector is putting the country on the path to becoming a superpower.”
“Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji has ensured that the young generation is empowered through NEP2020 and a robust ecosystem of Digital India so that, with a unique combination of Human Capabilities and Artificial Intelligence, our youth can fulfil their aspirations and make the nation proud,” said the Lt Governor.

“Building a dream in someone’s heart is greater than constructing any structure in the physical world. “Now is the best time for young minds to make their visions a reality and build a better future rooted in our glorious past,” he remarked.
He added that the graduating students are commencing a new chapter in their lives at a time when this glorious period of our nation’s development and growth has created new opportunities and possibilities for all.
“Today’s youth represents the Indian generation that has the Vedas in one hand and Artificial Intelligence in the other,” Lt. Governor Sinha said, adding, “The balance between the two is what sets them apart. Outstanding cooperation between contemporary technological instruments and human leadership will contribute to nation building.”
The lieutenant governor advised the students to be imaginative, to prioritise self-education, and to remain founded in ancient values.
“Artificial Intelligence and other digital tools will assist new ideas, curiosity, and creativity to provide a new impetus for nation building,” he added.
He continued, “Curiosity, knowledge, and action are the three factors that determine our fate. The evolution of India’s knowledge society is based on these three elements, which have guided inclusive development and empowered society.
The lieutenant governor told the students, “These three elements will also guide you in adding value to existing opportunities, developing new tools, and having a transformative, economic, and social impact on society.”
“Today, future-oriented innovations and AI’s potential are strengthening and expanding India’s tech ecosystem. He added that in the future, business executives equipped with new business models and the most advanced digital tools will redefine socioeconomic development.
During the commencement ceremony, the lieutenant governor highlighted the reforms brought about by the National Education Policy and modern IT tools in the education sector.
The Lt. Governor also praised IIM Jammu’s efforts as a mentoring institution making a significant contribution to the nation’s socioeconomic development.
“India was known as the golden bird not only because we were hundreds of years ahead of other countries in civilization, culture, and prosperity, but also because we had the best academic institutions and the entire society had reached the pinnacle of consciousness,” said the Lt. Governor, highlighting the contribution of academic institutions to nation building.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between IIM Jammu and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) on the occasion.
Dr. Milind Pralhad Kamble, Chairman of the Board of Governors of IIM Jammu; Prof. BS Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu; Vice Chancellors of numerous universities, faculty members, and students were present.
