NEET 2023 turnout crosses 97 per cent in Bhubaneswar

This year’s National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test (NEET) (UG)-2023 examination was administered at 22 examination centres in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. It had a 97.8 percent attendance rate.

316 out of 14,481 applicants enrolled to take the medical school entrance exam were absent. Similarly, more than 50,000 candidates participated in the examination, which was administered at 125 locations in 27 localities throughout the state.

Biswaranjan Gaya, a candidate who took his examination in Bhubaneswar, reported that this year’s questions were somewhat more difficult than those of the previous year. “Chemistry was a bit tedious. This year’s biology exam is simple, but the queries are not the same as last year’s. I have performed well on every exam,” he added.

In India, 20,59 lakh candidates had registered to take the NEET (UG)-2023 examination.

Likewise, the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE)-2023 will begin on Monday and run through May 15. This year, 55,979 applicants will take the OJEE-2023 via computer-based test (CBT) at 47 test centres, including three outside the state.

On the first day, exams for lateral entry into BTech or LE tech (diploma) will be administered in three shifts. MCA/MSc (computer science) examinations will be administered in the first two shifts on May 9, followed by MTech (11 subjects), M Arch, M Plan, M Pharm, and BCAT examinations in the third shift.

On May 11, there will be two shifts of MBA examinations and one shift of LE Tech (BSc) and BCAT examinations (film editing). On May 12, students will take the BPharm examination across all three schedules. On May 15, they will take LE tech (diploma), integrated MBA, and LE Pharm examinations.
