Sidho-Kanho-Birsha took a first gently but courageous step out of its chrysalis in the November of 2010, when it started out on its academic odyssey in Purulia, an area generally thought to be a back-of-the- beyond place of the benighted Jungle Mahal. The university boasts of Post Graduate courses in 18 subjects. It intends to expand its purview a lot more in the near future.
