UKPSC Bharti: After about three and a half years, the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission has reinstated the system of obtaining minimum marks in preliminary and screening examinations for various recruitment examinations. According to Girdhari Singh Rawat, Secretary, Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, the Commission’s Examination Result Preparation Process Rules 2012 provide for 35% reservation for unreserved candidates, 30% reservation for other backward classes and its related sub-categories, and scheduled castes in the preliminary and screening examination. Candidates from Scheduled Tribes were required to obtain a minimum of 25% of the available marks. The Commission removed this system on June 26, 2019. Previously, the cutoff was determined by the number of posts.
However, following deliberation, the Public Service Commission reinstated the old system. According to the Commission’s Rules 2012, the Public Service Commission amended the Rules 2022 and implemented the system of receiving minimum marks in the preliminary and screen examinations.
