Recap of of Business Proposal Season 1
Tae-moo and Ha-ri woke up together the morning after the previous night, which somewhat contradicts what we see of Seong-hoon and Yeong-seo (but we’ll get to that later). From there, everything else followed.
Even though they are happy to see one other, Ha-ri’s mother is not overly happy to see them because she is aware that Ha-ri lied about her whereabouts for the night. It leads to a cute scenario where Tae-moo wins over Ha-ri’s family after her mother loses it and attacks both her and Ha-ri.
They all go down for drinks to celebrate Young-seo’s birthday and get to know each other while Seong-hoon and Young-seo eagerly watch Tae-moo confess his feelings for Ha-ri. Tae-moo has a particularly heartfelt conversation with Ha-ri’s father, who talks about how she never pursued any of her ambitions and objectives since she knew he couldn’t financially support her through them.
He is taken aback when Ha-ri visits him in the hospital instead of Tae-moo and stays to take care of him, which makes him angry at first. But over time, he begins to soften, and in a string of amusing incidents, the two really begin to gel.
Ultimately, Chairman Kang only hears Ha-ri singing and, out of habit, asks her to keep singing so he may enjoy it in silence.
She hears Seong-hoon’s father urging Yeong-seo to break up with him immediately. As a result, she chooses to start her own company rather than continue working for her father’s company and completely severing all ties to him. As long as she can show that she has a sound business plan, Seong-hoon, who is unwaveringly loyal, will be the first to invest.
End of Business Proposal
The Business Proposal starts to increase the stakes as it gets closer to being finished. Tae-moo wants to take Chairman Kang to the United States since the tests that Chairman Kang requested as part of his fake actually identified a serious problem with his blood vessels and there is no solution for the condition in Korea.
After their fishing trip, Tae-moo urges Ha-ri to travel abroad with him, but she declines out of concern about rumours and because Chairman Kang still has a bad opinion of her. For the first time, Seong-hoon refers to Chairman Kang as “grandfather”.
It turns out that a year has passed, during which Ha-ri has excelled at work, Yeong-SEO has started a business (and is happier than ever with Seong-hoon, who is taking a year off work), and Ha-ri’s mother has become furious over the prospect of Tae-moo not coming back, especially after she sees him on an American talk show.
It almost seems as though she will be correct in her assumptions until a scandal involving Tae-moo and a cellist named Baek Yun-seo emerges. When Ha-ri learns of this, she immediately prepares to board a plane for New York.
Director Kang is making a good recovery and will return to Korea the following week. He has, however, made it clear that Tae-moo must wait to return home until he has given Ha-ri an engagement ring. It seems like he actually does like her.
