The background of Equal Pay Day

However, this issue still requires immediate attention even today. In 1963, John F. Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act into law, which was the first piece of federal legislation to address this issue.
From the 1970s onward, women employees became an increasingly significant proportion of the labour force in a variety of industries.
