Guardian Angels Day 2023: Guardian Angels Day is observed annually on October 2. The purpose of this day is to recognize the protective responsibilities guardian angels play in our lives. Catholics also observe the Memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels and the Guardian Angels Feast. There is much to celebrate on such a day.

This day was established to express gratitude and honor the guardian angels in our lives. We also get to reflect on the roles guardian angels have played in different religions and cultures.

In addition to being Guardian Angel Day, October 2 is also observed as the Feast of Guardian Angels by Catholics. Celebrations of guardian angels began in the 11th century A.D., and by the 12th century, this belief had acquired a foothold in the Catholic Church. In 1608, Pope Paul V authorized the Feast of Guardian Angels in tribute of guardian angels.

In the 1670s, Pope Clement X designated October 2 as the official date for the Feast of Guardian Angels, which he also made obligatory. Christians and non-Christians agree that angels exist and that their primary purpose is to protect and guide us through life. It is believed that guardian angels belong to the lowest order of angels.

Even in biblical times, guardian angels are mentioned. Guardian angels sometimes intervened in human affairs in the Old Testament. The New Testament also mentions angels as intermediaries between God and humanity. By the fifth century A.D., this belief in angels had already acquired ground in Christianity. Muslims believe in guardian angels as well. They believe that everyone has two guardian angels, one in front and one in back.
