National Steven Day History

Christians place a lot of significance on the name Steven. It is a variant of Stephen, which is derived from the Greek word “Stephanos,” which means crown or wreath. He is first mentioned in the Bible’s “Acts of the Apostles.” Stephen, a Greek Jew by birth who converted to Christianity in 5 A.D., was one of the seven deacons chosen by the Apostles to provide food and assistance to the poor churchgoers. But what elevates Stephen to a key place in Christianity is his death. When a mob stoned him by the law, he became the first martyr. Apostle Paul was present when he died. Stephen is the patron saint of masons, horses, headaches, deacons, and coffin makers.

Hard rock enthusiasts can’t help but be immediately drawn to Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler’s incredible vocal range and high-pitched shrieks. Tyler, who was born Steven Victor Tallarico on March 26, 1948, was expelled from his high school just before he graduated due to marijuana use. Tyler’s attendance at a Rolling Stones concert when he was seventeen years old had a significant impact. In 1970, Tyler and his friends started a band and played in Boston nightclubs. In 1972, they obtained a record deal with Columbia Records and became Aerosmith.

Many people rank Wardell Stephen “Steph” Curry II as the best shooter of all time and among the greatest basketball players of his generation. Curry played collegiate basketball for the Davidson Wildcats, where he established the school and Southern Conference records for scoring before being picked by the Golden State Warriors in 2009. Curry’s extraordinary skill helped the Warriors win their first championship in 2014, and a year later he became the first player to be selected as the MVP by a unanimous vote.
