On May 3, 2023, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for the development of Bhogapuram International Airport.
The airport, to be developed as a greenfield airport, has an estimated project cost of Rs. 4592 crore for phase 1.
According to reports, the State government has acquired 2,203 acres of land at Bhogapuram.
However, the GMR Group is all set to construct the international airport at an estimated cost of Rs 4,592 crore.

Capacity will reach 18 million in the final phase. However, passenger growth demand will determine the project’s completion timeline.
