Independence Day 2023 Full Event Schedule at Red Fort: According to a Ministry of Home Affairs advisory, the celebration of Independence Day or raising of the National Flag in state capitals or district headquarters/subdivisions should begin after 9 a.m. The Ministry revealed the complete schedule for the 77th Independence Day celebration.

The nation is preparing to commemorate its 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023. This significant event is a national holiday that honours and celebrates India’s courageous voyage to independence. Patriotic melodies, flamboyant cultural celebrations, and poignant acts such as flag-raising serve as poignant reminders of the nation’s hard-won independence.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has released the schedule for the Independence Day celebrations amid preparations for the event. According to the advisory, the commemoration of Independence Day or raising of the National Flag should begin after 9 a.m. in state capitals or district headquarters/subdivisions.

For the Independence Day ceremony at the Red Fort in Delhi, the Armed Forces and Delhi Police will present the Prime Minister with a Guard of Honour. It will be followed by the raising of the flag, the playing of the national anthem, and a 21-gun salute. After the cultural programme and other events, the sky will be filled with tricolored balloons.

According to a report by the PIB, approximately 1,800 distinguished visitors from across the nation will attend the Independence Day flag-raising ceremony at the Red Fort in New Delhi.

Later in the evening, Rashtrapati Bhawan will host the At Home reception. In addition to the usual protocol invitees, there will be a variety of attendees at the event. Some of the guests who may receive an invitation include frontline health workers, experts in various disciplines, and researchers/innovators.

In addition to the festivity, this Independence Day will honour the country’s martyrs through the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign. Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced this campaign during his 103rd Mann Ki Baat radio session on 30 July. The campaign will be observed between 9 and 15 August. The purpose of the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign is to honour India’s bravery. It will be part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ festival, which honours the nation’s liberation fighters.

There will be various activities associated with the campaign, such as the “Amrit Kalash Yatra,” in which plants and soil from various regions of the country will be transported in containers. This sediment will be used to construct a ‘Amrit Vatika’ in close proximity to the National War Memorial.
