Masik Durgashtami Rituals

Early in the morning on the day of Monthly Durgashtami, devotees take an ablution. They don new clothing and pray to the goddess Durga. In addition, they perform special puja rituals and offer the deity flowers, fruits, and treats.

On this day, some devotees also observe a fast by consuming only one meal. In addition, they offer special foods such as kheer and halwa to the goddess Durga.
