Austin Symphony July 4th Concert: AUSTIN (KXAN) – Tuesday, the City of Austin outlined parking and transportation options for those attending the H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4th Concert & Fireworks.
On July 4, the city announced that VIP festivities will begin at 5 p.m. and the free event will commence at 8 p.m. at Auditorium Shores and the Long Centre. Concert begins at 8:30 p.m., followed by “mile-high” pyrotechnics display.
The city advised people to park in the downtown area north of Lady Bird Lake to prevent the congestion on South Lamar Boulevard, Barton Springs Road, and Riverside Drive (all located south of the park).
For safety purposes, the Bouldin Creek Neighbourhood will implement parking restrictions. According to the city, parking in restricted areas (on green spaces and parkland, along rights of way and medians, or obstructing private drives and lots) or in “Not Permitted” zones may result in fines, tickets, and/or towing at your expense.
There will be parking available in the following locations:
ADA The Palmer Event Centre Garage and One Texas Centre will issue parking permits on a first-come, first-served basis. The entrance is accessible via Barton Springs Road from the south.

The city stated that the Hike-and-Bike Trail can be used to reach the park. Remember to carry a torch and that motorised vehicles are not permitted on the trail.
Additionally, you can use the City of Austin’s Bike Map to determine your direct route to the concert venue.
The city suggests using the CapMetro travel planner when taking public transport. Thursday, CapMetro announced it will provide Sunday-level bus service and suspend fares after 5 p.m. on July 4.
Shared Mobility / Dockless Devices – Shared Mobility and Dockless Devices will be able to be dropped off at the southwest corner of Riverside Drive and South First Street.
The city announced that road closures will begin at 10 a.m. on July 4th.By midnight, all streets will be reopened. The city has a map with information about road closures and parking options.
At 10 a.m., the city will close Riverside Drive between Lee Barton Drive and South First Street.
Due to high pedestrian traffic, the city warns the following roads may close earlier for safety reasons:

On July 4, between 8 p.m. and 12 a.m., the section of Lady Bird Lake between the railroad trestle bridge and the South First Street bridge will be closed for safety reasons.
The city requests that you adhere to the following rules and recommendations in order to attend the concert:

During the Independence Day holiday, Austin Police stated that officers will enforce a DWI Enforcement Initiative and an Extended No Refusal Period.
APD reported that DWI Enforcement began on June 23 and will continue nightly until July 9. Extended No Refusal Period began on June 29 and ended on July 9.
Austin Fire reminded everyone of the burn moratorium and the prohibition on possessing, using, or selling fireworks within the city limits. The AFD requested that you dial 3-1-1, not 9-1-1, to report illegal pyrotechnics.
Austin-Travis County EMS stated it would provide multiple medical resources on-site at the concert, but warned attendees to prepare for the weather.
