Travis Hunter Taken to Hospital: Travis Hunter, a two-way star for Colorado, departed Saturday’s 43-35, double-overtime victory over Colorado State after taking a hard hit to the sideline in the first half.

The only update Coach Deion Sanders had after the game was, “From what I’ve heard, he’ll be out for a few weeks.” During the third quarter, Hunter was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Sanders did not provide any details regarding Hunter’s injury.

According to defensive back Shilo Sanders, losing Travis is equivalent to losing two players at once.

During an incomplete pass at the Colorado sideline in the second quarter, Hunter received an illegal strike to his midsection. On the play, Colorado State was penalised twice: nickelback Ayden Hector was flagged for pass interference, and safety Henry Blackburn was penalised for unsportsmanlike conduct after a late impact out of bounds.

Hunter, who earlier lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown, returned to the game in the second quarter and played both offence and defence.

When Hunter was taken to the hospital, the Buffaloes trailed the Rams 21-14 but rallied for their third consecutive victory.

Hunter, who played both cornerback and wide receiver, has been mentioned as an early candidate for the Heisman Trophy alongside Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes.
