Days after her husband, Alexei Navalny, died in a Russian prison, Yulia Navalnaya reopened her X account after a brief suspension. The Kremlin suppressed protests in support of Navalny, one of Putin’s biggest political opponents.
Navalnaya’s account targeted
After Navalnaya’s ban was noticed, thousands of users urged Elon Musk to reopen her account. Based on platform user feedback, the X CEO may be asked why Navalnaya’s account was targeted.
Her account has been reactivated, but only three posts are showing on the profile, indicating that much of the content has been deleted. One of her last tweets before the interim suspension addressed the Russian government, which has refused to return her husband’s body. I don’t care what the killer’s press secretary says. Give Alexei’s body back and let him be buried with dignity; don’t hinder people from saying farewell, she wrote.
